It is difficult to identify specific “up and coming” science fiction writers (English language), as the field is constantly evolving and new writers are emerging all the time. That being said, here are five science fiction writers who have gained recognition in recent years:
- N.K. Jemisin is a renowned author of science fiction and fantasy whose works have received multiple honours, including the Hugo Award for Best Novel for the entire “Broken Earth” trilogy.
- Charlie Jane Anders: Anders is a science fiction and fantasy author whose works have appeared in a number of publications, such as Asimov’s Science Fiction and Tor.com. Her book, “All the Birds in the Sky,” made the Hugo and Nebula finalist lists.
- Vina Jie-Min Prasad is a science fiction and fantasy author whose work has been published in numerous publications and anthologies. The Lost Cause, a novella she wrote, was a Hugo and Nebula finalist.
