- Sarah Connor, portrayed by Linda Hamilton, is a fierce and tenacious character who struggles to save her son and stop the emergence of the machines in the Terminator movies.
- From the Hunger Games film series, Katniss Everdeen: In the Hunger Games trilogy, the strong and selfless heroine of Everdeen, portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence, battles for her ideals and the for lives of those she loves.
- The X-Files character Dana Scully is a talented but sceptic FBI agent who works with Fox Mulder to investigate paranormal activity. Scully is portrayed by Gillian Anderson.
- Tris Prior, a tough and brave character who questions social standards and fights for freedom in the Divergent series, is portrayed by Shailene Woodley in the film adaptations.
