- Ursula K. Le Guin’s “The Dispossessed,” a tale of two worlds, one a utopia and the other a dystopia, follows the journey of a scientist who must navigate both in order to find a solution to a global crisis.
- “The Diamond Age” by Neal Stephenson is set in a future in which nanotechnology is employed to instantly produce real objects. The narrative centres on a little girl whose life is changed by a miraculous book that she receives.
