Sci-Fi and the Occult: 4 Series that Blur the Lines:

The Chronicles of Narnia are a collection of fantasy books by C.S. Lewis that incorporate aspects of science fiction and the occult. The show chronicles the exploits of a group of kids who travel to the mythical land of Narnia and come into contact with talking animals, fantastical creatures, and other paranormal elements.

J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone: The occult and science fiction are combined in the fantasy book Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. The story follows Harry Potter, a young wizard, as he searches for his true identity and faces the evil wizard who murdered his parents.

Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series combines themes of the occult and westerns with science fiction and fantasy. Roland Deschain, a gunslinger on a mission to find the Dark Tower and prevent the end of the world, is the main character of the television series.

Lev Grossman’s The Magicians trilogy is a science fiction/fantasy series that combines themes of young adult fiction with the occult. The show centres on a group of young magicians who are enrolled in a covert magical academy and must battle a strong, prodigious evil.

My own Alexandra Forever series falls into this category, I’m just not sure if it is truly its own subgenre. What are your thoughts?
